Number lines tool is an online utility which adds a line number to each line of the given text.
As a start enter or paste in the text into the input textarea. Specify if you wish to add line numbers on the left or right side (left side is default). Optionally specify a prefix (characters before each line number) and a suffix (characters after each line number) of the line number.
For example enter the prefix as "#" if you wish to get line numbers as "#1, #2, #3, etc" or enter the suffix as ". " (default) if you need to receive "1., 2., 3., etc". Of course it's possible to combine the prefix and suffix, so you can create a line numbers format which suits your needs.
When all parameters are set, then submit the form by clicking on the add line numbers button.
