Unix timestamp converter is an online tool which translates between the Unix time format and human readable dates. Convert a timestamp into a date and time - or any date back into a timestamp.
The usage of this online tool is super easy. Just place the value which should be converted into the input field - either a timestamp such as 1792768272 or a date such as 2026-10-23 09:11:12. Choose the conversion direction and your timezone in more input options. Next, click on Convert button. Finally, you can see the converted value in the output area - date conversions also show the ISO 8601 format, timestamp conversions include milliseconds.
What is a Unix timestamp?
It is the number of seconds which passed since the Unix epoch - midnight on 1 January 1970 in UTC. The format is compact, unambiguous and easy to store, which is why log files, databases and APIs use it everywhere. Modern systems sometimes store milliseconds instead, which is why the tool shows both figures.
Timestamps have no timezone of their own - they always describe one exact moment. Pick your timezone in the options to see that moment in your local wall clock time.
